OUTGOING Civil Aviation Minister Captain Lekwa Gure has urged his successor Jelta Wong to ensure pending issues are completed.
They include the new office for the ministry, the establishment of the civil aviation secretariat which will deal with policy and the 2021 budget for the secretariat.
He said agencies which came under the ministry included the National Airport Corporation (NAC), Civil Aviation Safety Authority, New Sky Pacific Ltd and the Accident Investigation Commission.
On the NAC, he said they were waiting for appointments from the tourism sector, business sector and shareholders.
Wong said his first job was to meet everyone in the ministry and review the appearance of airports.
“First impressions count.
“When you arrive into a country, what you see at the airport gives the impression of the rest of the country.’’
