Guria thrash Yamaros to lead Super comp

GURIA further extended their lead in the Port Moresby Super League women soccer competition after thrashing Yamaros 5-0 last Saturday at Bisini Soccer ground.
They were led by Southern Highlander striker Bertha Yari and flanker Flair Sali who were instrumental in scoring the five goals.Yari scored in the 25th minute to put them in front before Flossie Makeu struck the second goal before half time to take the lead 2-0.
In the second half Sali, using her speed managed to pick up her second goal of the afternoon in the 22nd minute before Yari cushioned the lead in the 28th minute with a brilliant goal.
Sali completed the formalities in the 39th minute to see her Guria team propelled to number one spot in the competition ladder.Second-placed Etsu Mungkas sounded a warning to other teams when they beat PS Ruts 4-1.PS Rutz Lima Neofa surprised the Mungkas defence when she slotted in the opening goal in the 19th minute before Lani Aufa and Lavinia Hola had a field day sharing the four goals amongst them.
Aufa levelled the score in the 23rd minute while Hola completed the day with three goals to see Mungkas win the match. University’s new recruit Mitchelle Inga displayed her clean pair of boots by scoring three goals while veteran Tokoi Norrie scored a single to send their Manusians opponent, Spartans, packing for the afternoon 4 goals to nil.
