Hagen needs new road

Letters, Normal

THE people of Mt Hagen are now experiencing traffic congestion, especially in the morning rush-hour.
It is an eye opener for the locals who are rushing to work as well as those who are travelling to the market to sell their fresh produce.
This is due to the increase of vehicles by local farmers, businessmen and PNG LNG project workers.
I call on Governor Tom Olga and newly appointed Minister for Civil Aviation Benjamin Poponawa to build a new two-lane road from Kagamuga Airport up to the town and to Togoba as traffic is very busy.
The new road will provide tremendous business opportunities for the people.
For example, fuel service stations, trade stores, warehouses, car wash outlets, new buildings, etc, can be built.
As such, Olga and Poponawa cannot afford to waste time but work together to build this new road immediately so the people do not miss out on this opportunity.
This development will change and transform the people’s life and bring the province up another level.
