What is happening with the water supply?

Letters

ALLOW me space to express my frustration as to why water supply at Erima is been dictated by committees.
The water is reopened after a week or two for consumption before it is turned off again. It takes a day or two for the community to have access to water before it is turned off.
This has been happening since the old water pipe system was replaced by new ones towards the end of last year.
This was an initiative of Moresby North East MP Labi Amaiu.
This is having an adverse impact on the residents, especially the lives of infants and young children are at greater risk of contracting water borne diseases.
There is a group of semi-educated committees who go around collecting payments from residents at the end of every month.
For some reason these committees turn the taps on and off without consulting the residents.
We have working class people who are serving in the government and private sectors living there and the actions of a few people with vested interests in dictating the water is already driving the community insane.
I urge the management of Eda Ranu and the MP Amaiu to investigate and resolve this matter immediately.
