HARLEQUINS say they are set to give it their all against Brothers in the top-of-the-ladder premier clash of the Capital Rugby Union competition at Bava Park on Saturday.
Brothers have so far recorded 11 wins to sit atop the 11-team ladder after 14 rounds of the season while Harlequins occupy second place with 10 victories.
Harlequins coach Billy Rapilla told The National early in the week that his men would not take Brothers lightly.
“Obviously, Brothers are the benchmark team of the competition, so far they are the team to beat,” he said.
“There will be a lot of enthusiasm and flair in the game, and we’re looking forward it.
“We are happy with our progress so far, but we are not satisfied with some of the statistics and results from our performances.
“I think our forwards will have to step up against Brothers because they have a strong pack too.
“Our backline need to be consistent and control the game.”
Rapilla said discipline would be crucial against the ladder leaders.
“We have to stop giving away easy penalties,” he said.
“We can’t afford to do that against a quality side.
“When an opportunity presents itself, we have to convert it into points.
“We had enough possession and field position in our recent games, but we were unable to finish well.
“So we need to get it right in the next game.”
Meanwhile, Harlies’ Ron Butler bagged 16 points as he starred in last Sunday’s 21-10 win over Wanderers.
The scrum-half will look to continue his form against Brothers.
