Health authorities to accommodate staff

 THE East Sepik provincial health authorities are working to accommodate 526 community health workers in its workforce.

Simon Orim, the supervisor of community health workers in Wewak district said that the 526 positions were approved by the Department of Personnel Management in 2008.

“However these 526 positions were not implemented until this year,” Orim said.

A submission to recapture the development of health workers in the province has been given to the Deputy Governor of East Sepik, Ian Samuel.

“Samuel has acknowledged the submission and he will present it to the provincial executive council meeting soon,” Orim said.

Samuel will send the submission to the National Executive Council for approval.

Orim thanked provincial health adviser Albert Bunat, rural health adviser Brown Kum, provincial acting advisor for health workers Abel Sumbuk and adviser Moses Nukon for supporting the submission.
