Health Authority to have board members

THE National Capital District (NCD) Health Authority board will be made up of representatives from the city as well as the Government, Governor Powes Parkop, pictured, says.
Parkop told The National that they would work together to co-manage all the clinics in the city. “Part of our priority is to upgrade all facilities in terms of equipment, staffing and others.
“Our aim is to provide world class health service to our people in the city.”
He said they would also be looking at providing specialised clinics apart from normal clinics.
“We would also be providing specialised clinics for women and children and not just generalised ones.”
Parkop said a submission was before the National Executive Council (NEC) and awaiting approval.
He said they would seek assistance from development partners and fund raise in order for the NCD PHA to actualise some of their objectives in improving health services in the city.
Acting NCD health adviser Dr Jerry Tanumei said: “We will do a master health service plan for the National Capital District and I am glad that authorities are coming in place because then we will be able to work with stake holders and partners.”
“We have 26 partners and more partners are interested in coming on board to assist us.
“Some of the important partners are Members of Parliament and the Governor Parkop.”
