Health issues from bad to worse

Letters

THE ongoing concerns relating to our Health Department and our health service raises serious questions about the priorities of our government.
Papua New Guinea has seen our health system decline to dangerous levels over the last three decades but in the last few years, it is hard to believe but this has become worse.
The health system in PNG is broken and people are dying because of it.
There is no way to sugar coat this.
We have no pipeline of doctors and nurses coming through that are well trained.
We have new hospitals being built around the country by foreign aid that sit empty because we have no one competent to run them.
Enough of accepting this.
We should have good hospitals, good health care and a healthy people.
We have the resources.
We have countries giving us the money.
Stop with the mismanagement and waste.
Train our people and let’s fix this health system.
But it starts at the top – we need good leadership at all levels.
Start now please before more people die.
