Health survey progressing well: Officer

JIWAKA health survey coordinator Thaddeus Turi says the 2016 demographic and health survey in the province is progressing well.
“Because of the support from the administration and cooperation from the people, the data collation exercise is running smoothly,” Turi said.
“We have completed collecting data from the two urban clusters (census units) from Minj and Banz and are moving into the rural clusters this week,” he told The National.
He said the two quality controllers from the National Statistical Office in Port Moresby who were in the province doing quality checks on the data collected have made positive remarks about the progress of the survey so far.
“They did not find many mistakes in the data that our numerators collected because they have been trained by a very good trainer and his assistant.”
Turi said they were doing well because people responded positively to the interviewers.
“With the positive support of the administration and good feedback from the respondents, we are going well within the time frame.”
He said the survey would be completed by December.
