Hearts, Magic winners in shield

 BSP Hearts (145/7) consolidated their position at the top with a hard fought three-wicket win over Digara Diggers (141) in the Hebou Shield 50-over cricket competition over the weekend. 

Air Niugini Jets and Hebou Hammers match was unfortunately washed out due to overnight rain while Brian Bell Bulldogs recorded their first win over Pacific MMI Marlins.

Hearts Jason Kila was the star with the bat as he single-handedly guided his side to victory with an unbeaten 71.

He also took 2/18 in an allround effort.

In the match between the Bulldogs and Marlins, Assad Vala (52) continued his strong form with the bat for Marlins to post a score of 140.

The Bulldogs reached the target (144/5) thanks to Raho Sam (50), Riley Hekure (48).

In the women’s games, Dulux Magic (77/3) remained unbeaten after recording a seven-wicket win over Pacific MMI Mermaids (71). 

Pure Water Diamonds (96/1) created more misery for Hebou Harriets (95) with a thumping nine-wicket win.

Magic star, Mebo Ipi continued her run scoring form with another match winning innings of 52 not out.
