GIGIRA Laitepo Morobe United have been forced to play two consecutive matches in Lae on Saturday and Sunday against Besta United and Eastern Stars respectively in the Telikom National Soccer League competition.

The Morobe management were put on notice on Tuesday and got confirmation from NSL development manager Chris Brown yesterday to accommodate the Sunday match, a washout match pushed back from the previous weekend.

While the first match is scheduled at the Sir Ignatius Kilage stadium, Morobe team manager Toki Mambare yesterday said a venue for the washout match had not yet been confirmed.

He hinted at the possibility of playing at the Lae Football Association Park in Eriku.

“We have no choice. We will play the two matches in less than 48 hours as it’s NSL’s call,” Mambare said.

The Stars, who drew with Morobe in round one, now have the advantage of playing against a tired Morobe outfit seeking to cement their place in second spot.

“We know we have lost to Besta and drew with Stars, it was our own stupidity,” Mambare said.

He said that it was up to the players to execute what they had been polishing during their training sessions.
