NEW found striker Bilson Bill scored a goal in each half to help Hekari beat WNB Tavur in the wash-out fixture played at Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby last Thursday.

Bill, formerly of Murat FC in the Lae Football Association, has been playing in the shadows of Maciu Dunadamu, Kema Jack and Raymond Gunemba all season until he was given a full game which he made the most of to bag a double.

The Mussau chap was picked up by Hekari during the off-season but could not cement a regular spot in the side.

The victory has now confirmed Hekari as the minor premiers and they will represent PNG at the 2014 OFC Champion League.

Bill and other reserves and squad members Joey Ambrose, Calvin Bill, Phila Vela, Willie Gia and goalkeeper Ismael Pole played their maiden games for the champion club.

In the early match, Northern Crusaders thrashed Mungkas 3-1 to take the top spot in the Port Moresby-leg of the Ox & Palm Women’s National Soccer League.
