A CHIEF in Komo-Margarima, Hela, has called on the government to appoint permanent administrator for the province.

Peter Lapaiya said the prolonged delay in the appointment would affect service delivery and development activities.

He urged the government to fast-track the appointment, saying the province and people would suffer if the matter was not addressed.

“Jiwaka province already has a permanent administrator and when will Hela get its permanent administrator,” he said.

Lipaiya urged Prime Minister Peter O’Neil and National Executive Council to fast track the appointment so that the public service machinery in Hela could implement government initiatives and programmes.

He also appealed to Governor Anderson Agiru and Tari-Pori MP and Finance Minister James Marape to ensure the appointment was made without further delay.
