BENJAMIN Petrus was in Angore, Hela, on Friday afternoon when he received a call that he was the winner of a K124,000 Ford Ranger vehicle.
“Are you serious?” Petrus asked, when answering the call from National Capital District deputy governor Dadi Toka Jr who was invited to announce the winner.
Petrus was sleeping after working the night shift when he received the good news.
Petrus is flying into Port Moresby today to receive the vehicle keys.
“I’m from Koroba, Hela. This is going to be my second car,” he said.
“It was always my dream to own a Ford Ranger – Raptor or Wild Track – one day and that day has arrived unexpectedly. I still can’t believe that I won the Pepsi competition.
“Big thanks to Pacific Industries Ltd for running the promotion for Papua New Guineans,” he said.
“My family and especially my wife and kids are all excited.”
Petrus entered the Pepsi win-a-Ford Ranger competition after buying three cans of Pepsi in Port Moresby.
Pacific Industries Ltd is the manufacturer and distributor of PepsiCo products in PNG.
Director Everett Chue said the Lae draw winner would be announced today, followed by Mt Hagen and New Guinea Islands.
