HIDES Gas Development Company Ltd (HGDC) has been awarded the Esso Highlands camps maintenance contract for the Kobalu, Juni, HQ3 and Komo camps.

HGDC will maintain waste water treatment and water management, electrical appliance, air conditioning and plumbing for these camps.

The camp maintenance function of Hides Alliance Group (HAG), a joint venture partner of HGDC, would be separated and placed under HGDC management, allowing HAG to concentrate on catering services to camps.

To deliver on the expectations of our client, HGDC has set up a maintenance division.

The initial tasks would be to perform a smooth transition from HAG to HGDC, to ensure workforce safety and to establish clear expectations for employees.

HGDC general manager John Gourley said the recent addition of the camp maintenance contract shows HGDC’s commitment to grow the company and increase return on investment for shareholders.

“It shows our commitment to expand our business so it is evident to potential clients that we are capable of doing such jobs in any resource project throughout the country,” He said.

“The new contract would see more Papua New Guineans being given employment opportunities at the new maintenance division of HGDC.”
