THE PNGRFL interim board headed by John Numapo has been given until Wednesday to respond to eight petitions emailed to it by the 19 affiliated Highlands league presidents.
Numapo however in an interview yesterday denied receiving the petitions via email.
“I had not received the email so I do not know what their petitions are and I can’t make any comments,” Numapo said.
Another interim board member, Gary Juffa when contacted last night confirmed receiving the petition emailed to him.
Juffa, however, was also disappointed that the annual general meeting (AGM) was never a collective decision by the PNGRFL interim board.
“The AGM is illegal as it is not a collective decision from us (the interim board), and we have not met to come up with the set date for the AGM,” Juffa said.
Juffa said all the decisions were made unilaterally by Numapo and he was not a party to it.
Attempts made to contact other board members Ivan Ravu and David Tamtu on this matter were not successful.
The petitions were signed by the Highlands presidents after their meeting last Friday in Mt Hagen.
It was done in the belief that the interim board must correct and rectify serious errors, omissions and misinformation in the defective notice of the PNGRFL AGM published in all the print media earlier this month.
Among the items in the petition, the presidents have asked the interim board and its management to explain to all affiliated leagues in the country whether this AGM is a new AGM or the court-ordered AGM which was supposed to be for the aborted AGM from Jan 30, 2011, as well as other important agendas all in the petition sent to the interim board
