Hike pay of doctors at rural hospitals

Letters

CHRISTIAN Health Services (CHS) salaries for doctors at rural hospitals are not attractive to lure national doctors.
Despite joining the Alesco pay system, salaries are well below the public service structure despite the prime minister promising that CHS workers will receive the same salaries as public servants.
DPM secretary, in a memo issued last year, said CHS workers will not receive the same benefits as public servants, thus stripping some allowances.
To lure doctors to rural settings, CHS must pay all allowances that public servants receive. Do that or no doctors will go to serve in our rural areas.
This is reality.
