Hillary buys truck to support small businesses in his village

HILLARY Limeri, after retiring from his job, used a Nasfund Contributors Savings and Loan Society (NCSL) loan to buy a truck to support businesses in his village.
Limeri is a contributor to the National Superannuation Fund (Nasfund) and an NCSL member.
His Nasfund retirement savings was sent to his NCSL account using the service-under-one roof agreement.
The agreement between NSCL and Nasfund allowed the fund to facilitate contributor’s superannuation withdrawals to poro accounts with ease.
Limeri is a former Barrick Niugini Ltd employee now living with his family in his Rofundohum village in Kubalia, East Sepik.
“When my one-year of full fund withdrawal date was near, I requested Nasfund for my retirement savings to be sent to my NSCL poro account,” he said.
“I wanted to obtain a loan to buy a truck to support small-medium businesses in my village.”
He bought the truck in September.
His advice to other contributors is to use the NCSL’s loan scheme for their financial needs instead of going to commercial banks as they charge high interest rates.
Limeri said Nasfund members who are contributing to the NCSL should have their entitlements transferred to their poro account.
