THE Hiri-Koiari administration block will be built at Bautama in Central, says MP Keith Iduhu.
After that, the district administration will build commercial amenities, a police station and a courthouse.
“The district has been publishing tenders for development partners to work on the new Hiri-Koiari town,” he said.
“The administration block will look similar to the City Hall Annex Building in Port Moresby.
“It will house the staff of the district.”
Iduhu, in office for almost seven months, said the aim was for the district to have its own administration building.
He said it would allow people to have better access to him, his staff and the public service machinery.
The office has been operating on the same floor as the Motu-Koita assembly in City Hall, Port Moresby.
Iduhu thanked Motu-Koita Assemble chairman Dadi Toka Jr for accommodating them.
Meanwhile, Central Governor Rufina Peter said earlier that the province planned to build a Hiri-Koiari township between Laloki and Brown River, and towards the coastline of the Liquefied Natural Gas site at Papa-Lealea.
