Hohola off-season underway, organiser happy with attitude

THE Hohola off-season rugby league season kicked off over the weekend after a two-week preseason at Ipi Park.
Tournament coordinator Roland Andare said the offseason competition would have 24 teams over 11 weeks with the finals around Christmas.
Andare said their women’s competition in week five.
“We plan to run a six-team women’s competition next month,” Andare said.
“Four women teams will come from outside meaning other suburbs of Port Moresby Northwest with Hohola fielding two teams.
Andare said more than 50 teams had expressed interest in the competition and the competition had been divided into A and B gradeswith 24 side in each.
“In the first round of the season, I was surprised to see all the teams showing up on time. We had no forfeitures,” he said.
Andare was hopeful that the competition would run smoothly with teams being more responsible for their games and taking ownership of the competition.
