FAST becoming a favourite holiday programme in Port Moresby, the Kids for Conservation Education is on again at the Port Moresby Nature Park starting today and ending on Thursday.
According to the park’s management, the school holiday programme aims to give children a sense of awareness and responsibility about the significance of plants and animals in their environment.
Due to the Covid-19 measures observed by the park, class sizes are reduced to 20 students per session where 40 students are expected to participate over the two-day programme.
Port Moresby Nature Park’s education manager Shirley Mogi said she and her staff were excited to have students join them again for the Kids for Conservation programme this term holiday.
She said the park was unable to run the programme during the first term break due to the one month school suspension and lockdown period.
“It’s a satisfying thought that even during school holidays, parents see the value in registering their children to attend such programmes as the kids for conservation, giving us confidence in the effectiveness of the programme we deliver to students,” she said.
“This year marks six years since the inception of the kids for conservation holiday programme and the education team at Port Moresby Nature Park thanks all who have supported.”
