Hoping for the best

TO get a think-tank together at a highest level to govern a country at a short notice was not an easy task.
However, Prime Minister James Marape did that with a mixture of old hands and some novices is commendable and PNG is now holding onto its breath and hoping for the best.
A rare trust of confidence given to a few ministers like Mining is also appreciated for continuity and encouragement for foreign investment in that sector.
As an Eastern Highlander and an Okapian, I also would like to thank the Marape Government for recognising Okapa with a ministry which has been long coming.
With the PM giving every Minister a grace period of six months is another driving force to get them working rather than spending time on leisure activities as seen in the past government ministers.
It’s normal in any employment where one is given a six months’ probation to perform the given KPI and if fails, you are shown the door!
Congratulations to the new government and hope some of the things people of PNG have been crying for would be realised in this short period.
