Horizon Gas

Letters

IT was welcoming to read last week’s The National about Horizon Gas’s intention to implement a stand-alone LNG for Western.
Fly River provincial government under the leadership of Governor Toboi Yoto and his Open MPs are capable of delivering this mammoth of a task for the people of Western.
With the current economic crisis of cash flow shortages in the province and country together with the shortages of forex, there is a growing need to grow cash and stimulate economic growth within the province.
Western provincial sdministration should revisit the feasibility study done by PNG Sustainable Development Program regarding a deep-sea port in Western.
That report is collecting dust somewhere in Port Moresby.
Push towards this model before the LNG infrastructure for the province is laid.
The proposed pipeline should be planned to route through major growth centres from North to South Fly, followed by an economic corridor road.
Other sectors will only bloom once the road is constructed.
If the provincial government builds and owns the pipeline infrastructure, that’ll be even more of a bonus and cost sharing for the developers as well.
The provincial government can then charge the developers for use of facility.
We have the money in PNGSDP.
Let’s use it now.
