Hospital issue

Letters

AS a citizen I would like to thank the government of signing K495 million loan with China Exim Bank for the Enga Provincial Hospital project in Enga.
Of course the hospital will provide services to the people.
But the question is, why the government of PNG is using tax payers money to build the hospital in Enga while most hospitals around the country lacks infrastructure, lacks medicine, shortages of doctors and nurses?
This huge amount of loan is only beneficial to one province but it will be repaid back by tax payers’ money.
While only Enga is benefiting from this huge project, Port Moresby General Hospital still runs short of medical suppliers and infrastructure.
Daru hospital is also in dire need of medical supplies, Kerema Hospital has a sewerage system blockage that needs to be fixed.
Normad health centre in Kiunga Lake Murray has worn out beds for patients, run down infrastructure and needs to be removed. Kagua health centre in SHP, which serves around 100,000 people is no longer serving its purpose because of total ignorance from government and health authorities.
Therefore, paying attention only to one province with a huge amount of such money is unfair to other provinces who are also tax payers.
