Hospital project waste of money

READ with interest that the Southern Highlands Provincial Government is embarking on a massive K330 million Mendi Hospital redevelopment. For goodness sake, can the provincial government do a cost benefit analysis on this single project because the province cannot afford to go into a full throttle of spending a huge amount in one single project while other district hospitals like Ialibu, Kagua and Nipa are not upgraded to required standard. The 22 provincial hospitals in PNG need funds to buy much-needed medical equipment and refurbishments. Mendi Hospital has been operating for over 30 years and what is the rationale for an expansion and redevelopment? This is a risky project and I call on the Prime Minister to reject this proposal and order a full scale investigation.
