Hotel’s donation to help Cheshire with programmes

A HOTEL in Port Moresby presented a cheque for K12,167 and two boxes of donations to Cheshire Disability Services (CDS) on Friday.
Hilton Port Moresby (Hotel) presented the money and goods to Cheshire to support its programmes in 2023.
CDS general manager Benson Hahambu said the donations would be used to help the centre to run its programmes which cared for persons living with disabilities.
“We have a full year ahead of us in reaching out for communities where persons with disabilities, especially women and children, and that is all captured in our work plan,” he said.
“With the ongoing support from Hilton Hotel as well as others in Port Moresby, it will be very much helpful in making our work possible.”
Hilton general manager Ryan Mikelson said the donations were collected through an event called the Christmas under the Stars, which the hotel hosted last Dec 18.
“Over the last three years, we eventually evolved and we had fantastic feedbacks, and it is great to be able to put a community having time around Christmas for the people of Port Moresby as well,” he said.
Mikelson acknowledged all the sponsors for their support in giving gifts that enabled the management to donate to CDS.
