House of Gemini has 123 brooches for leaders

A COMPANY will present 123 specially-designed brooches to Apec leaders as gifts.
House of Gemini Jewellery manageress Suzanne Darby said they were made by the company as a special gift for the visitors.
The brooches have the Bird of Paradise and Apec logo and are made of gold, silver and bronze.
The 21 gold Bird of Paradise brooches will be given to spouses of the leaders, 25 gold Bird of Paradise brooches to Apec Leaders, 60 silver Bird of Paradise brooches to ministers, 30 bronze Bird of Paradise ones to senior officials and 17 bronze one with the Apec logo to Pacific island leaders.
Darby said the company had been in PNG since 1980 and designed a Bird of Paradise and bilum brooches for Prince Charles and Camilla during their visit in 2012.
