AIR Energi places enormous emphasis on training and development of its staff, regional vice president Matthew Smith says.
Smith said in the past two years, several Air Energi staff had attended short courses with institutions such as the PNG Human Resource Institute, Institute of Banking and Business Management and Institute of Directors.
On Aug 31, Air Energi saw three female staff graduate from a 10-day course in laws on human resource management offered by PNGHRI.
The course covered the laws governing all types of employment and their legal implications.
The course was presented through practical exercises, assignments, tests and a moot court exercise on termination in employment situations for various sectors.
The course organisers provided 30 professionally-written law handbooks on employment that covered employment contracts between employers and employees, statutory regulations and the basic aspects of an employment relationship.
Smith said: “Knowledge is one of our core values at Air Energi and Rawa Mea, Thecla Wapi and Stephanie Manas have graduated from this excellent 10-day course with an improved understanding of the human resource laws in PNG.”
