A 28-YEAR-OLD man is facing two counts of causing grievous bodily harm at the Waigani committal court for allegedly wounding two women with a bush knife.
Peterson Basil, from Maprik, East Sepik, made his first appearance before Magistrate Paul Puri Nii.
Magistrate Nii told Basil that the court would give a month for police to carry out an investigation.
Police prosecutor Sgt Christian Iga informed the court that Basil appeared in court on a K500 police bail.
Magistrate Nii told Basil that the bail would now be converted to a court bail.
It was alleged that at 6pm on Sept 3, Basil approached his wife, Rose Bogege, and slashed her arm with a bush knife.
Basil then allegedly rushed over to Maureen Bandi and slashed her arm and back.
