THE continuous power outages can be addressed through hydro technology.
PNG Power Ltd is the only supplier of electricity and it is facing enormous pressure to meet the increasing demand for power.
We can have consistent power without blackouts and other unnecessary interruptions if every district has its own mini-hydro power plant.
District MPs and provincial governors can use their service improvement programme (SIP) funds to invest in hydro power infrastructure which can improve lives of people.
Electricity is needed on a consistent basis and is crucial to all human activities.
Being a monopoly, PNG Power is facing enormous pressure from the growing population with growing demand. Districts and provinces can generate revenue through hydro technology by selling power to the Government.
