A WOMEN leader has denied allegations levelled against her in a recent media report.
Dian Ambil, who claims to be the founder and president of Enga research and recovering women’s association, said the article by the alleged new leader this week was defamatory and had no basis.
The report had alleged that Ambil was arrested and charged by police with misappropriation of funds.
When asked if police had approached her, she confirmed it saying the matter was currently before the courts.
Ambil said she was seeking legal advice from her lawyers to restrain her accusers of making further defamatory statements against her.
She revealed that she was unaware of any formal meetings held to appoint a new leader or the association’s executives.
Ambil said the statements made were all false and called on the government and authorities to continue business with her as the president.
According to Ambil the association was formed for the following purposes:
l Advise and consult family life management services;
l Conduct adult literacy training for communities;
l Conduct health awareness programmes;
l Promote and sustain culture heritage;
l Seek funds, grants, information, technologies and technical skills to promote agriculture projects, alleviate poverty in all family house holds;
l Interact and collaborate with other organisations and bodies who share similar objectives; and
l Assist and accelerate youth to discover self-employment opportunities through the engagement of formal agriculture activities.
