DEPUTY Prime Minister and Minister for Justice and Attorney-General Davis Steven is expected to table the Organic Law on the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) Bill in Parliament when it sits from Tuesday.
The Bill on ICAC was gazetted by the Speaker on Oct 17 after it was approved by the Government to comply with constitutional requirements.
Steven said the Organic Law on ICAC was an important legislation.
He said the legal team in the Department of Justice and Attorney-General had started working on the regulations required to operationalise ICAC.
Constitutional amendments to establish ICAC were passed in 2015, Steven said.
But there was little time to pass the Organic Law in the last term of Parliament. Steven said the passage of the law had been delayed for many reasons.
