ICCC should be doing more about illegal bus fares

I  AM pleased to learn that the Independent Consumer and Competition Commission (ICCC) has been encouraging the public to report on illegal PMV fares charged by buses in NCD.

But where have they been all this time since this practice was introduced back in 2010?

It is unacceptable for all passengers to pay K1-K2 for route 16.

Some other routes also cost K1-K2, such as Manu Auto Port to Gordon’s Market, Gerehu to Boroko and Gordon’s, Waigani direct town and possibly others too.

Bus fares are no longer 80 toea.

The ICCC should go around  and check for themselves instead of sitting in their air-conditioned offices and giving orders for the public to report.

Try to be the people’s servant  as  you  are purposely there to serve them.

So, simply take time off and  pay  a  visit to Gordon’s or any of the mentioned routes to see for yourselves the illegal practice of charges K1-K2.

This country needs people who can become the people’s servants in order to develop and move forward.
