DEPARTMENT of Information and Communication secretary Henao Iduhu has expressed satisfaction on the outcome of the second Joint Committee on Information Communication Technology (JC-ICT) meeting staged in Kokopo, East New Britain.
Henao said during a press conference yesterday that he was pleased that the committee was able to reach an agreement on a number of specific and time-bound areas of cooperation.
This, he added, was a timely progression from the inaugural JC-ICT meeting held in Sabah, Malaysia, last year.
Iduhu said he was encouraged that all the positive developments had been taking place under the ambit of the overall memorandum of understanding signed by PNG and Malaysia in Port Moresby last year.
He thanked the Malaysian delegation for their esteemed and valued participation during the meeting.
Iduhu told the visitors that he hoped the Kokopo hospitality had been up to their standard and hoped that PNG would be able to play host again sometime in the future.
He urged the PNG delegation to continue in making things work for the benefit of the rural communities who have been continuously demanding improved ICT services.
Iduhu also commended the ENB government and administration for their support and hospitality for the participants during their brief stay in the province.
