Immigration probing meth suspects

PAPUA New Guinea Immigration and Citizenship Authority chief migration officer Stanis Hulahau says it is also investigating foreigners and locals linked to the methamphetamine (meth) bust in Bulolo.
“Those found guilty in illegal businesses will either be deported or have their citizenship revoked,” he added.
This came after Chun Li, 43, from China’s Guandong, was charged in a committal court in Lae with trafficking 88 bags of meth from Bulolo on March 18.
Chun is alleged to have trafficked the meth from KC2, Seventh Street in Lae, to the Bulolo Airstrip to be transported on a black flight to Australia.
Two days later, Lae police conducted a search at KC2 and picked up three Chinese nationals and two locals for questioning.
Hulahau said the woman owner and director of the company where Chun works would also be investigated.
She was alleged to have flown to China after being questioned by police, following Chun’s arrest.
“If we give you citizenship and welcome you into our country, you must abide by our laws, if you do business, do so legally,” he said.
