TWO correctional service officers from Beon, implicated in the escape of 49 inmates last week, have been arrested for allegedly using abusive words against warders and their wives, police said.
Acting provincial police commander, Snr Insp Jacob Bando, said Snr Insp Jackson Gubag and Sgt Alois Suruka had since been released on K100 bail each.
Police acted after wives of warders and their husbands complained of being verbally abused by the two.
Police said the two in the company of others at the Angra Hill, where staff quarters were located, allegedly shouted abusive words and threatened to assault the wives.
The wives who laid the complaint are equally concerned about the manner in which the two were carrying on.
Beon commander Tita Wada said he would let the law deal with the two.
