EREMA Gulf FC will look to claim their first piece of silverware when they take on Morobe United in the Football Federation Papua New Guinea’s Champions League final in Lae tomorrow.
Erema turned heads earlier in the month when they stunned perennial title favourites Hekari United to claim top spot in the Southern conference playoffs.
Morobe had an easier passage in their northern conference playoffs and will have the home ground advantage at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium.
Tournament sponsor Panamex Pacific (PNG) Ltd will also launch its new product the Boneeto milk brand coinciding with Champions League final.
FFPNG senior vice-president Roy Kamen on behalf of the president John Kapi Natto welcomed the support of Panamex through its Boneeto milk brand.
Panamex now joins the band of sponsors in Mineral Resources Development Corporation, Lae Biscuit Company, and Petroleum Resource Kutubu.
The third-place playoff between Hekari and Markham FC will kick off proceedings before the main fixture at 3pm.
Panamex regional sales manager Ian Towarap said they were impressed with the development and promotion of soccer by the FFPNG in their province as well as other parts of the country and were happy to support their work.
“We thank the president and the host organising committee for the giving us the privilege to be part of the wonderful programme and be part of their Champions League final.
Northern Conference coordinator Stanley Khanna expressed gratitude for Panamex Pacific for stepping in to back the federation’s main competition.
The gates open at 10am and fees are K3 for the outer stand and K5 for the grandstand.
