Independent probes wasting money

THERE has been too many ‘Independent Investigations’ going on by the Government.
The government should organise a team of journalists and auditors, protected by the constitution and governed by the same policy and laws NEC is under, to do the probe.
Let them be the ones to investigate when it comes to issues that need ‘independent investigations’.
Just form an independent group and keep them on payroll as other public servants rather than spending millions of Kina for a group(s) to investigate a particular issue.
Then another million kina budget for another issue that pops up.
Independent investigation is another phrase for ‘more free hand-outs’.
It’s just a waste of resources and tax payers money. We cannot argue about power and water consumption and cut their budget because those are the essentials that keep the Government going.
We should focus more on state-owned entities budget and profits.
Put a ceiling on expenses and benchmark profits the entities should make in a year and have their appointed leaders work towards it or be replaced.
Replaced because we need someone who can bring profit, someone who is smart and not someone to fill up the space because of being a career officer/more experienced.
What is the point of having state-owned entities when they contribute to half the debt of the government. They should be the ones assisting to pay off debts created by the Government and not the other way around.
Buai ban budget should be lowered to a minimum for other better and helpful stand in our communities.
It has taken a toll on the people and turned the view and trust of the people to look the other way on the reputation of police.
I urge the Government of the day to look for a better solution and lead us forward.
