SPEAKER Job Pomat says a five-day induction for the new MPs this week is to educate them on the processes and systems in Parliament.
“It is important for members of Parliament to know one of the most important things – that members of Parliament are law makers, and that laws are being passed on the floor of parliament,”  Pomat said.
“Even if it’s a private member who wants to propose a bill, what’s the process he has to go through?
“There are staff in Parliament who can assist them on how to work on the bills to be tabled in parliament.”
Pomat said MPs would be given Standing Orders of Parliament so that they understood the processes and procedures.
Acting Clerk to Parliament Kala Aufa said the induction began yesterday with 53 MPs.
