Info market day provides opportunities

Business

Lae InfoMarket Day, held twice every month, gives Morobe’s Lae women the opportunity to sell their wares, meet and learn from other small-to-medium enterprise (SME) owners, build friendships and business partnerships and firm up networking arrangements.
This year’s final gathering was held last Saturday at the Lae Botanical Garden.
Tok Stret Incubator Hub project officer Ralmalyn Kumbou said each participant had to pay a K30 fee to be part of Saturday’s “pre-Christmas celebrations”.
“The info market is like a craft market, and is a time where SME owners and operators meet and greet and talk about what they are doing and selling.
“We are planning to expand this into a bigger SME show next year,” Kumbou said.
She said while there had not been much support coming from the government, Kumbou expressed gratitude and appreciation to NCI Packaging (PNG) Limited for supplying some empty 44-gallon drums, PNG Forest Authority for the pellets and the donation of two sewing machines and two rolls of laplap materials from PC Woo Limited.
The gate and stall fees were paid to the Forest Research Institute for the upkeep of the botanical garden.
