THE Pacific Institute of Leadership and Governance (Pilag) has embarked on a new policy initiative to boost its financial capability to sustain itself, an official says.
Pilag chief executive officer Michael Barobe presented the policy to Minister for Public Service and Kikori MP Soroi Eoe in Port Moresby on May 21.
Barobe said the boost in the financial capability captured in the new policy initiative would enable the institute to perform its mandated roles in providing relevant and sustainable training services for the public sector.
Eoe said it was a vital policy initiative that would encompass and address “our current government’s strategic development agenda and policy pronouncements about making the public service delivery effective and efficient”.
He said he would present the submission in the next National Executive Council (NEC) sitting for cabinet deliberations. Eoe urged Pilag management to beef up the capacity of the regional training centres to be able to deliver more training.
