INTEROIL Corporation has arranged a special meeting on July 28 for holders of common shares, options and restricted share units to consider the Oil Search transaction.
InterOil stated in a market release that shareholders of record as of June 20 this year would be entitled to vote at the special meeting. Additional information about the transaction would be provided to all InterOil security holders in a management information circular, which would be mailed to security holders in due course.
The process relating to the special meeting is subject to receipt of an interim order of the Supreme Court of Yukon.
This meeting is separate from the special and annual meeting of shareholders. InterOil announced that at a hearing held last Friday, the Supreme Court of Yukon rejected the company’s founder Phil Mulacek’s attempt to delay the corporation’s annual and special meeting of shareholders. It found that there was no basis on which to interfere with the board of directors’ judgment to proceed with the meeting which was held yesterday.
