Gazelle MP Malakai Tabar is concerned about the stalling of police investigations into the gruesome killing of a man recently.

The man, identified as Erimi August, 35, from Talvat in Rabaul district, was killed near Navunaram village.

His body was found on the road on Sunday June 9 by a passer-by. His stomach had been cut open with some body parts cut out and placed beside his body on the road.

Tabar believes that police investigation has been stalled by internal issues in the force, mainly at the Kerevat police station.

However he has been assured that the matter has been addressed. He has asked for a replacement officer to take up the investigation immediately.

Tabar has provided logistical support and even brought witnesses to the station to give information on the killing.

Police initially thought that it was a hit and run incident.
