IPA customer service slammed

Letters

THE Investment Promotion Authority office at Lae needs to improve its customer service to meet customer expectations.
Application for companies or business registration takes between one and two months.
I have noticed that many have complained that registrations are taking too long.
Imagine if a customer had travelled a long distance from a very remote location and then after having been served at the IPA office was told to wait for two months. I experienced this.
I visited the Lae office a week ago to register a business and the woman at the counter gave me a pamphlet from a private firm.
She said that I can either get it done by the firm in a day or do it at the IPA office and wait for two months.
The concern here is that this staff is not doing what her employer expects of her.
She is promoting a private firm instead of doing her job.
I called the contact number provided on the pamphlet but number was unavailable. Very bad experience.
IPA Lae needs to improve.
