THE Investment Promotion Authority will set up a desk in the Morobe provincial administration to help people in their business requirements.
A memorandum of understanding was signed by the administration and IPA yesterday in Lae witnessed by representatives of the provincial government, police, Customs, Department of Labour, IPA, Internal Revenue Commission and the Independent Consumer and Competition Commission.
IPA acting managing director Clarence Hoot said services offered by the organisation would be available to the people of Morobe  through the Help desk.
“The IPA help desk will act as an extension of our services in Port Moresby and the Lae regional office to the people,” Hoot said.
“It is basically an extension of IPA’s presence in the province.” Hoot said the aim was to improve the performance of businesses and to regulate business activities in Morobe.
Deputy Morobe administrator (Economic Services) Masayang Moat said the intent was good.
“Some of the things done in Port Moresby needed to be brought here to meet the demand and progress.”
