Ipatas creates incentive for students at nursing college

“K7000 will be deposited every year into the bank account of the top student from the college.”
ENGA Governor Peter Ipatas said this last week when he presented school subsidies to Engan students attending Enga Nursing College, Sopas Campus.
Also Governor Ipatas has made an agreement with the Port Moresby Genral Hospital to take in the top seven performing students who graduate from the college.
He said Enga in the next five years would become the leading province in education and health.
Ipatas told students from other provinces attending the college that this is an opportunity and motivation for students to perform to the best of their ability.
“I might not pay your subsidies but I am giving you an opportunity to be educated and to be employed in a long run.
“While others are working on numbers, we are working on quality,” Ipatas said.
He also metioned that the nursing college would form part of a wider medical campus of the future Enga University.
He said construction would commence mid-year for a medical school in the vicinity of Enga Hospital, similar to the medical school in Port Moresby.
“Enga Hospital will have the latest in medical technology and th emost professional doctors.”
