Ipatas Cup starts in ENB

THE Coca-Cola Ipatas Cup’s (CCIC) East New Britain leg kicks off today at the Kalabond Rugby League Stadium in Kokopo.
After a six-year absence from the offseason tournament, teams from Kokopo, Rabaul and Gazelle are expected to take part. Coordinator Steven Liu said six clubs — Black Bass, Snax Muruks, G-Chiefs, Tribal Edge Spiders, TN Lions and Keleone Panthers — from the Kokopo City Rugby League would feature.
He said all six teams had paid their affiliation fees. The competition would end on Sunday with the finals with the winner advancing to West New Britain in two weeks play the winner of the WNB leg.
Gates open at 9am today and the first game kicks off at 10am.
Players and officials will pay 50t admission while spectators will pay K1.
Lui said a working committee had been set up comprising of Solomon Darius as deputy coordinator and administrator Joe Mika.
