Ipatas deserves to be listed among the best leaders

SINCE PNG was born, it has had outstanding leaders such as Michael Somare, Lambake Okuk, John Kaputin, Sam Abal and others, who deserve their place in history for their contribution in the country’s pursuit for self-government.

Peter Ipatas is no exception. He is creating history and the man behind reorienting Enga.

The Enga people, widely known for aggression, have experienced huge changes.

After 16 years, Engans elites have surged through his good vision. Of course, Ipatas knows how well  his product will be prior to designing it.

He was hell-bent to make Enga a leading province and its fulfillment is no surprise.

The head of the Commonwealth nations recognised his leadership provided in ensuring the province becoming a role model in human resource.

Preponderantly, Enga elites and  graduates have dominated the whole employment spectrum in public and private institutions let alone those attending universities and colleges.

With due respect, other provinces have taken the copy-paste approach, sadly at ad-hoc basis and will likely be lopsided risking other priority development areas in their yearly budgets.

Until a governor or an MP with vision  is determined to implement it, merely pleasing their people for political gimmicks will not achieve its real purpose.

I  am  proud that I benefited from  the policy in the year it was implemented up until I graduated from UPNG.

The records speak volumes  and other Engan elites will agree with me that Ipatas will be well remembered as the champion of Enga.
