ENGA Governor Sir Peter Ipatas must work closely with Wapenamanda MP and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Immigration Rimbink Pato to deliver much needed basic services in Wapenamanda, Enga.

Pato signed an agreement with the New Zealand Government-AID funding recently for a multi-million kina hydro project in the Tsak local level government area.

Pato, a first time MP, has changed the face of Wapenamanda by spending millions of kina on health, education, road and bridge infrastructure.

The people of Tsak see the hydro project as an impact project that will change their lives forever as it will light up the LLG for the first time.

While the Tsak project is about to begin its second phase, Sir Peter has funded the Mukurmanda to Tsak power line project where power pylons have already been constructed.

This is a total waste of public money.

Sir Peter has never initiated anything, especially any power projects in the district until Pato secured the funding for the Tsak project.

The governor’s intervention is clear political jealousy and competition to a first-time MP who is doing very well for his people and district.

The governor should have funded the Lower-Lai power project if he is serious about delivering services for the people.

Sir Peter has been the governor of Enga for the last 25 years and over those years the people of Tsak and Wapenamanda have faithfully voted for him.

During these 25 years, people of Tsak and Lower-Lai have lived in darkness with no major development has taken place in Wapenamanda.

If the governor wants to do something positive for our district, it is our will that he works closely with Pato.
