MORE than 50 tax payer professionals and small-to-medium enterprise owners have attended awareness programme hosted by the Internal Revenue Commission (IRC) on digitalised communications among clients in relation to tax payment platforms and processes yesterday in Port Moresby.
Director for NiuPay Ltd Jason Kurdzinski said that digitalising the processes provided convenience for tax payers to communicate with IRC and urged consumers to take advantage of this platform.

Co-chair of the Internal Revenue Commission meeting for small to medium enterprises, in-house accountants and large tax payers Dorothy Sonny addressing presenters at the meeting.

“Part of the IRC’s digitalising strategy we have had about 2,000 registered users of our MyIRC digital platform since it was launched last December and through which we aim to provide simplified details of the policies to all tax payers and clients,” he said.
“There are direct feedbacks available as well as roadmaps as to how we deal with tax management provided on the site so we encourage everyone to visit the IRC website and make use of this platform.”

Kurdzinski added that the platform allowed for durability and availability and could ease the lengthy process of sharing documents with the IRC.
“We understand there can be a lot of paper work involved in attaining certificates, clearance and lodgments for small-to-medium business and other clients and therefore this platform provides allows for one to submit documents at the comfort of their offices or homes,” he said.

Kurdzinski added that the platform also helped IRC workers to work diligently in delivering the best service to clients.
“MyIRC allows for feedback so that clients are notified when their documents have been received and are being processed so that we (IRC) do not get duplicate documents which causes delays,” he said.
Kurdzinski said that the platform allowed for instant card-based payments of tax and query help desk.
